Given the everchanging environment farms operate in, taking a proactive approach to risk in farm finances can provide peace of mind and keep finances “in the black” when it matters most.
This training will offer effective approaches for managing your business through challenging cycles of variable seasons. It will mix understanding farm financial statements with a proactive planning approach to adapting to climate change and other farm stressors.

Take your risk management approach to the next level and further your farm’s stability year after year. We will help you establish or brush up on your skills with financial statements and increase what you can glean from them about your operation. We will mix financial and operational analysis over the course of the day, using interactive group activities to improve your farm’s planning position against risk and stressors and guard your operation’s future.

Our programs serve start-up, early-stage, expanding, and established farm, food and fishery businesses, from those accessing land for the first time through those engaged in a farm transition.
Our 1:1 service area is currently Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island, along with online resources for everyone. For the purposes of this training, “Managing Your Farm Finances in the Time of Climate Crisis,” any farmer who registers can attend in person, regardless of geography.
Services are free for most, with a cost- share for those over our asset/income guidelines.
